Thoughts Become Reality

The mind has two jobs.attract health and peace of mind
Its 1st function is to translate energy and information, thereby giving us an experience of life that we call ‘reality.’ However, if you have ever gone mindless, or into the zone, on a road-trip or other engulfing activity, then you know it is possible to function fully without experiencing any of the stimulus that surrounds you. This demonstrates that reality is more than the energy & information we can identify…with our mind, which is not only part of the identifiable world, it is actually creating it within the confines of its nervous system. The damage caused by the misconception that ‘seeing is believing’ makes this point worth repeating:
Reality cannot be limited to that, which can be
identified and measured.
We know that anything that is identifiable or measurable is some form of energy and information vibrating on & off at the speed of light.  We experience on (the stimulus or the known) because of the off(silence). It  must follow that reality  consists of both the on and the off.  When our awareness slips out of  the silent ‘ zone,’ it begins processing some of the data in its environment again and we feel deceptively safe back in the known once again.  Most people misinterpret what happens when we slip into that pure Awareness, which is a silent and motionless ever-present aspect of reality – unknown by minds addicted to the stimulus of mental activity. They become fearful that they could have had an accident. The mind feels safe in the known, even if it is unpleasant, because it believes it knows how to handle what is familiar. Attempting to regain control, people work harder to focus on the stimulus ‘coming at’ them.
This misinterpretation prevents a magnificent discovery!
  • The stimulus aspect of our being is temporary; the silence we can get access to is an eternal aspect of our being.head.mind projector
  • We can slip in and out of eternity with our awareness.
  • We function without thinking or any awareness at all.  Our brain is just allowing us to experience life.
  • Reality is movement of Awareness between dense stimulus (physical), subtle stimulus (thoughts, emotions) and no stimulus (silence, soul, spirit, Source)
  • Nothing originates in or from our mind and body.It is all being projected out from the silence underlying all experience.
  • We can change the stimulus we wish to experience by shifting our awareness far more efficiently (seemingly miraculously) than trying to physically or mentally change what has already been projected.

Ironically, the mind’s second function, protecting us, becomes a hazard blinding us to True security, the infinite Source of Power and potential.

When babies are born, we must train them to shift their awareness away from the silence and begin processing the stimulus. After years of relentless directions to pay attention, focus, and listen, we become conditioned and eventually addicted to stimulus. As if we are  under hypnosis, we become programmable and don’t even challenge our assumptions. We forget the silence that was once our home. We can’t see, hear or feel that it is always right here with us. We are left with a hole that never seems fulfilled. Something is missing, but we don’t know where to find it. It can feel like homesickness.

It is soul-sickness.

We will lack peace of mind and feel incomplete as long as we remain unaware of our imprisonment in the stimulus believing that it (either the problem or the solution) is coming from “out there” and separate from us. Conversely, the stress or dis-ease of overstimulus, and the failure of ‘the world’ to quell our angst can cause us to question our thinking and surrender in humility. The release literally re-opens the path to the silent Awareness we knew as babies.  Letting go of the known creates access to that ‘peace that passes understanding’ with the rational mind because this silent, eternal Source of temporary temporal reality can only be known through direct experience. Most people believe they must die to get access to it because they can’t stop thinking long enough to move their awareness beyond the known… except by chance, as when we drive long enough to unintentionally slip into the zone, which is at once misunderstood and feared.

The relief of letting go is realization of the soul.
Occasionally, a peak experience of shock or awe will cause us to reconnect with the memory of wholeness.  This is either described as Nirvana or a ‘out of body experience. In our hypnosis, we have become so divorced from ourselves that we don’t understand what happened and have no idea how to find our way back to it. Like babies  needing  indoctrination into the world of form and phenomenon, we need guidance finding our way back to real-ization of that Silence in our daily lives. When we do, we are no longer delusional as we wander around what we thought was reality:  the two-dimensional world of our making. We awaken from that dream (nightmare?) to the 3-dimensional (mind/body/soul) Truth that eluded us.
This is heaven on earth.
After this awakening and learning how to continue accessing that Peace through direct experience of all three aspects of our being (mind/body/spirit), we personally Know ‘the end of the world’ experientially. Nothing happens to us. Nothing has any power or control over us.  All of our experiences are projections from our Soul (Source). The fear or pain we feel is acknowledgement that our Soul cannot get through to our mind or body.  It is your soul’s urging to let go of your fixation “out there.”  If we would pause and connect with this non-rational communication, our life would become miraculous!

TUNING IN

Science has already advanced to the point of rendering belief in matter to pure superstition. And we are each already experiencing many ‘miracles’ of this discovery, like the internet. The end of the Mayan calendar is the beginning of synthesizing the implications of the end of Materialism into our daily lives – how we perceive things and the choices we make. It is movement toward a tipping point in the Collective Conscious’ understanding that we are like satellite dishes.  We are tuning into our experiences and at any time we can direct the dish to ward a different location to choose a different channel and project a more enjoyable show or “reality’.
We can choose to  our experience of the end of the material world as rapture or rupture.
(paraphrased)
The only change that is taking place is in our awareness. It is such a subtle change, and yet its Power is beyond our comprehension. The old sources of power built on faith in materialism, limitation and separation will continue to crash around us. The energetic shift that is underway reduces the buffer of time between start and fruition of an idea. For a mind that is steeped in the intellect, the illusion of separation, belief in limited resources, and a perception of a reality ‘out there,’ these could be trying times.  The old sources of power built on faith in materialism and separation will continue to crash around us. The need to protect, deceive, control, overdo, or stress will become a self-fulling prophecy faster now.  It will seem like our thoughts are known.  Actually, they always were! We can’t fool Mother Nature. We were only fooling ourselves. Because of the buffer of time, we could not identify the cause in most of our experiences; so when someone cut us off on the highway, we felt victimized…forgetting the snipe we gave earlier that day (rude to a spouse, family member, co-worker,etc.).
More and more we will experience instant karma or instant gratification – and we will be ‘known by our fruits.’
The love, altruism and appreciation in our hearts will be more obvious than ever. Jealousy, self-centered fear, negativity and resentment will produce like effect quickly. For a mind that is able to go with the flow, let go of the known and perceive opportunity in every apparent obstacle, this times will be increasingly effortless and joyful.
Self mastery is more important now than ever!

INSTANT GRATIFICATION

SHORT TERM GAIN = LONG TERM PAIN

Controlling people use force, manipulation or intimidation to ‘succeed.’

Leaders use personal Power, magnetism or inspiration to succeed.

Can you guess which one gets what they are seeking?

AWFUL-IZING

The other day I received a phone call that gave me pause.  Someone I know quite well was pleading with me to vote for the presidential candidate of their choosing.  They had seen videos and heard expert testimony about the perils that will befall our country if the other guy wins the election.  I have seen this sort of projection on myriad topics, many of which fall within the purview of a candidate’s platform. Topics ranging from healthcare, to global economics, to environmental policies, education and morality are a wellspring of catastrophic predictions on either end of the spectrum.  I gave my usual response:

  • The act of noticing the relationship between cause and effect is realization.
  • Paying attention to any aspect  of cause and effect (potential or actual) with strong emotion and/or absolute certainty (belief) is the process of real-ization.  WE make it real or perpetuate it.  Our attention transforms potential to actual/real.  Knock and the door will open.  Seek and ye shall find.
  • This is the fulfillment of The Law of Attraction.  What we call ‘reality’ is actually bundles of like energy & information vibrating at the speed of light held together by a force we call electromagnetism.
  • We attract our experiences. Like attracts like. The outcome is determined by the observer’s expectation.. That is why science uses double-blind studies and placebos. It is also why they cannot get a certain predictable outcome…ever.
  • Paying attention to what is not wanted is equal to asking for it
  • We are not here to fix.  We are here to CREATE.
  • Let it be.  Accept.  Contribute with a positive, loving vision with unwavering faith in the goodness of all.  It is possible to be of service and value in EVERY situation without having to denigrate what is or who is doing what! You will like what you see.  I promise.

These Truths are undeniable and inescapable.  They agree with every religion, philosophy, science, tradition, experience, etc.  They need as much belief as electricity.  Having awakened to this reality, I marvel at how I can ever fall back to sleep!  Having once been blind, why do I ever choose not to see again for a time?  It begins when I puff with the pride of ‘righteous’ thinking.  It is my old nemesis, that ignorant perception, which urges me to judge captiously making me think I know better or am better than another.  It is always followed by a faint twinge, a constriction, or uneasiness.

Thankfully I know now that my discomfort is my IGS (Inner Guidance System) alerting me to the fact that I am real-izing what I do not want.  I need to stop fault-finding and recognize that my thinking is wrong.  I am at once profoundly appreciative of the fact that I can never be permanently lost again.  I know the way out of my messes now.  Fortunately, I no longer stay in the discord and can re-awaken. Then, if I have taken my ignorance to the point where an apology or amends is necessary, I do so promptly and get back to the business of joyously creating my vision.

The person that placed that persuasive phone call to me replied with a very familiar caveat explaining that after years of listening to me sing this refrain, finally embracing these Truths was life-changing; BUT this political situation is scary, urgent, and it is a reality!  That is like saying gravity applies to small items and not large ones.  Many of my clients are ‘successful’ individuals who know these Truths and revere the great masters and agree whole-heartedly with that which is undeniable and yet they defend ‘justifiable resentments,’ embrace a sweatshop mentality with regard to work, believe in competition, compromise themselves and their hearts desire for ‘security,’ and beat themselves up for missteps, etc.

It is important to discern and make choices.  That is why we are alive.  In order to experience the joy of creating, it is necessary to make choices – that make us feel loving, open, inclusive and expansive.  Any sense of physical or emotional constriction is your sign that you are momentarily on a path to destruction.  Let go for a moment.  Release what you are resisting.  You will be creating/contributing again in an instant.  You can create the life of your choosing…adhering to this simple formula. If you make a habit of shifting your perception from positive to negative, denigration to elevation, destruction to creation, etc. and observe the results, you will know that this Truth is self-evident.

I will enter the voting booth in November and make the choice that seems  most in line with my vision of joy and peace at the time – knowing the only thing that really matters is that I elevate all that I behold and nurture a vision of joy and peace and love regardless of who is “in charge!”  How reassuring to know that this is not wishful, Pollyanna thinking…that the science is there to back it up.  The Beatles are absolutely correct.  All you need is love.

ASK NASH

“It wasn’t meant to be.”

Really?

Decide.  Intend.  Detach.

Resignation is not a part of the formula.

If it seems hopeless, you are micromanaging (trying to control). It is just the particular means you have chosen that is “not meant to be.”

  1. Make a general decision eliminating all other options (de-cide = to-kill).
  2. Intend to focus solely on what is in line with the vision/goal or what it will feel like when it is. Intend that you will know which actions you can take todayeffortlessly.
  3. Detach by being open to and enjoying the process – free from preconceived expectations about the who, the how, the where, the when and specifics about the what.

The goal is not in doubt. If it is your will, it is meant to be.  And, it will be – if you let it and don’t force it!

– OVERCOMING FRUSTRATION –

20-year-old Brandon Farrell asks about being able to control his emotions. A valuable conversations about living a meaningful life of our choosing ensues.

Lesson from Job(s)

It is our great fortune to have witnessed the personification of so many Truths in the life and achievements or Steve Jobs.  His iconic legacy will be available for all to draw upon when illustrating Natural Law, the governing principles of Creation.  His larger-than-life demonstration of The Power of Pure Potential (aka the Power within), The Power of Intention (focus), The Power of Self-Referral (not accepting conventional wisdom), The Power of  Visualization (imagination), The Powers of Simplicity and  Boldness (‘just do it’), The Power of Detachment (from fear, from the outcome, from the known) brought us closer to understanding that while human, we are also super-human.  If we allow ourselves to seize these Powers, move out of the illusion of safety of our comfort zone and venture forth into the realization of our seemingly miraculous potential, we can, like Steve Jobs, achieve anything we can conceive and believe.
Jobs, sadly, also demonstrated the results of violating these Laws.  Stories of his impertenance are sprinkled throughout accounts of his creative prowess.  In addition to his micro-managing (controlling? autocratic?) leadership style, he was known to belittle people, seek revenge, and harbor grudges.  Whether he was ignorant, defiant or disdainful of such fundamental Laws as The Power of Love, The Power of Attraction, The Power of Compassion, and The Power of Forgiveness, Steve Jobs has left us a few poignant examples of  what happens when we believe we are the Power or that immutable Natural Laws don’t pertain to us.  It is impossible to fool Mother Nature.  We will always reap what we sow.  Pumpkin seeds will never bring forth cherries.  Imagine if he was able to weave the Power of Potential & The Power of Intention with The Powers of Love & Compassion and the Powers of Attraction & Purpose.  He may have inspired the realize-ation of boundless Potential within those he employed.  Empowering others motivated by an absolute trust in the Power of Love without any attachment to the outcome (e.g. not fearing that Knowledge or information is dangerous or belief that your investment in another  may not pay returns) must buoy the leader/teacher exponentially.  It is Law.
Additionally, had he chosen to empower and inspire rather than intimidate, the inescapable Law of Attraction is likely to have drawn far less toxicity to his life experience and perhaps the potential for disease encoded in his DNA could have remained un-real-ized, dormant.  Nature does not compartmentalize; neither do we.  It is impossible!  We cannot have one kind of thought and a different kind of body.  Your body will reflect, measurably, whether you are stressed, angry, grateful or loving, etc.  Make sure that that you employ the Power of Love in all of your intentions, interactions and creations.  The Law of Attraction says we receive back the energy we emit multiplied on all levels – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  Do you want back what you are giving out?  How would you like it on steroids?

Attraction Confusion

 like attracts like

and opposites attract

The two are not mutually exclusive.  The subject and quality of our focus determines what we attract.  A loving person focusing on what they hate (illness, mean people, etc.) is likely to attract just that!  Onlookers will say, “How unfair!”  Actually, the law is non-discriminating applying to everyone.

A simple shift of focus to what is desired with a grateful, expectant heart will produce  miracles!

No Fool for Love

The Power of Love

Ironically, following the path of Love is the only route to true, sustainable power.  Seeking power through control and/or domination over people, places and things usually works…temporarily. This behavior can, and usually does, provide instant gratification and a [false] sense of security. The thrill of “success” releases endorphins and the association between domination and pleasure gets wired in our nervous system! The problem with this type of power is that it in not sustainable.  In addition, exacting power by deflating and depleting others comes with a very steep price.  Requiring constant vigilance, it is exhausting and inefficient. Neither the jailer nor the prisoner is free. Furthermore, what seems on the surface like a win, is in fact, another step closer to utter failure. The animus released every time someone loses in order that another prospers builds like an untreated disease. The power-grabber ultimately gets taken down one way or another, mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, etc.   Addicted to instant gratification and demonstrable, measurable cause and effect, the power addict usually slips into a comfortable denial, utterly incapable of recognizing direct responsibility for their dis-ease.   The person who is motivated by empowering and inspiring others has true Power. Individuals with this expansive perspective stand out in sharp contrast to the constriction felt around takers.  These individuals have magnetism – the power of attraction.  They listen to their inner guide (aka conscience)- which will ALWAYS make the loving, empowering choice.  The resulting goodwill from others as well as their own self-respect multiplies.  The subtle impact of their generosity pays dividends all the days of their lives.  It is the fool that doesn’t engage the power o Love in all human interaction.

Don’t Like Reality? Change It

What does reality mean to you? Although it sounds like the question has an obvious answer, if you ask five different people, you’ll get five very different, very unique answers. Our choices, preferences, upbringing and past experiences all play a part in coloring our perception of reality. In turn, those perceptions manifest the reality we perceive.

As an example, let’s look at an employee in conflict with his boss. He requested that his boss tend to a situation that directly impacted him, ASAP. When his boss didn’t respond immediately, he took it personally. He was very angry that his boss did not take the time to communicate with him clearly and resolve the problem in a timely manner.

He reacted to what he perceived as a snub, with emotion – anger. Ultimately, he got what he wanted from his boss. However, he was filled with remorse for his behavior. He knew that he had sown seeds that would cause him to reap a bitter harvest at some future date.

In truth, the boss was entrenched in a system of poor communication and the lack of timely response had absolutely nothing to do with the employee. The employee was valued. No one in the firm ever got a direct response. There was dysfunction in the system.

By taking the situation personally the employee viewed current events through the lens of his memories of having been marginalized in the past. Because he could not evaluate the situation independently of his personal history – he reacted in a way that engenders disrespect. Rather than stop the cycle with new behavior, he made another contribution to this self-perpetuated reality further distancing himself from his desire to be respected and acknowledged.

This is the prison of Karma. Somewhere in his past our employee made a decision that life is unfair and people overlook him. When our thinking or interpretation of a situation leads us to negative emotions, which lead us to non-supporting actions, we have no power or control over our lives. We are trapped in the memory of interpretations of past events which have nothing to do with the current situation, the present moment.

One powerful way to bypass the prison of your own perspective is to consciously observe your thoughts, emotions and actions. Challenge your interpretation of events instead of justifying them. Communicate truthfully with yourself and others. Try this exercise the next time you find yourself suddenly recreating past negative patterns:

1. Ask yourself, “What just happened?” Describe the incident without judgment.

2. Observe your feelings without evaluating them. Be sure to distinguish your thoughts from feelings. For example, don’t say “I feel as if you should have known better” when the truth is “I feel sad.” Sadness is a feeling; feeling that someone should have known better is a thought.

3. Take responsibility for your feelings. What others say to us may be the stimulus for how we feel, but it’s never the cause. We choose to feel a certain way based on the interpretation we give to their comment. Do not accept judgment from others or blame them. Begin to focus on your own feelings and acknowledge your needs, desires, expectations, values and thoughts.

4. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need, and use positive language when making requests. Instead of blaming your spouse for your feelings of neglect, try saying “Honey, I’m sad that you spend so much time at the office, but I really enjoy it when you have dinner at home with the kids and me. I would love if you would come home early enough to have dinner with us at least one night a week.” Clearly requesting what you want is much more effective than accusing your spouse of spending too much time at the office and casting blame for not spending enough time with the family. Can you feel the difference?

It’s not easy erasing negative karma, and you may find yourself slipping more than once. But remember that this is a lifelong process, and every new day provides plenty of opportunity for you to change your perspective — and, by extension, your reality.

Nothing changes if  nothing changes.

Albeit, the only constant is change (Heraclitus), an object in motion tends to stay in motion and an object at rest tends to stay at rest (Newton’s 1st Law).
Conclusion: unless one makes a conscious choice to alter their trajectory through change in thought, word and deed, their life will be a series of reenactments of the same story with different characters and scenery.

THE DAILY MANDALA by Henry Reed

Karma: You Asked For It

According to Newton’s third law of motion, “every action has an equal and opposite reaction”. People also like to use the phrase “you reap what you sow.” Any farmer will be quick to tell you sowing a pumpkin seed won’t yield corn the next year.

Likewise, if we want to create happiness, we must learn to sow happiness. If we want to be happy, it makes no sense to focus on things that do not make us happy. You need to put your attention on what you do want, rather than what you do not want. This does not mean that we should live in denial of “problems” or situations in our life that we have interpreted as negative. We should simply acknowledge the problem as the result of a seed that had been sown earlier in our life, or even before, and take responsibility for it by attempting to live more positively. Remember, nothing in the universe exists randomly. If we want to experience something different, we will let the negativity and grumbling go and begin putting our attention towards the solution to our problems and what we do want in our life.

Eastern traditions refer to this effect as karma. Karma is action, the interpretation of that action, and the resulting consequence of that action which is also interpreted and recorded in our memory. That memory will then prompt us in future actions. The memory will create a desire for more or less of the particular action.

Think about it: if I have a cup of coffee and perceive that it makes me feel good, I may interpret coffee as a good thing. I will be more likely to have another cup tomorrow. I will most likely continue to have coffee in the morning until I have an experience that will lead me to a different interpretation, memory and desire. If I have a bad reaction to the coffee, I would be less likely to have another cup the next day.

Although Americans have a tendency to describe karma in a negative sense, making bad choices can still lead to a good outcome if you take responsibility for the consequences, learn from them, and use that experience to make better choices in the future. For example, a child makes the decision to touch a hot stove. As a consequence, they are burned and record a negative feeling in their memory. In this way they learn that touching hot things is bad, and will be less likely to repeat this action in the future. Yet, as adults, we tend to turn away from unpleasant consequences in our life, blame others for them, and spend our time running from the resulting issues that arise.

Too often, we can get so bogged down in negative feelings and “karma” that we figure there’s just no way out. But by taking responsibility right then and there for every thought and action that has led you to the point you’re at today, acknowledging that you did play a major role in it (whether positive or negative, regardless of “outside influences”), and choosing to make positive causes for your life, you’ll be able to gain firm control over your actions and generate “positive karma” as you move forward towards your goals.
